Before Your Visit

How do I book an appointment?

All appointments can be scheduled online. Once booked, you’ll receive a confirmation email with all the details you need.  For our patients who may be less tech-inclined, please feel free to contact us directly to book.

What should I wear?
Loose, comfortable clothing is best. Your arms and legs should be easily accessible. Draping or gowns are available if needed.

Do I need to do anything special before my session?
Try to eat a light meal or snack beforehand and avoid caffeine or alcohol right before your appointment. Arrive a few minutes early to settle in.  We have light refreshments and snacks available for you, in the event you need to eat something small before or after you get on the table.

During Your Visit

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most people find acupuncture painless and deeply relaxing.  You may feel a slight pinch or tingling when the needles are inserted, but this usually fades quickly.

Do you offer cupping, gua sha, or moxibustion?

Yes.  These therapies may be included during your session if they support your treatment goals - at no additional cost.  We currently offer cupping-only treatments that are bookable online at an additional cost.  Please see the 'services' page or contact us for more information.

After Your Visit

How will I feel afterward?

Many people feel calm, grounded, or energized after treatment.  Occasionally, you may feel a little tired or emotional as your body processes the shifts - this is normal and usually passes within a day.

How often should I come?

Everyone is different.  Acute conditions may benefit from 1-2 sessions per week, while maintenance care might be once every few weeks.  We'll discuss a plan that feels right for you.

Policies & Payments

What's your cancellation policy?

We kindly require at least 24 hours’ notice for cancellations or rescheduling. Missed appointments or late cancellations will be charged the full fee, as this time is reserved just for you.

What forms of payment do you accept?

We accept a variety of convenient and secure payment methods through Jane Payments:

            • Major credit & debit cards: Visa, Mastercard, American Express, Discover, etc.
            • Debit Mastercard / Visa Debit
            • Apple Pay & Google Pay

Clients can also split payments across multiple methods during checkout (like part card, part cash).

We also accept cash or check.  Payment is due at the time of service.

Do you offer packages or memberships?

Yes! Packages are available to help you save on ongoing care.  Ask at your next visit or inquire via email.

Do you take insurance?

We are not currently in-network with insurance, but am happy to provide a superbill (a detailed receipt) that you can submit to your provider for possible reimbursement.  Check with your insurance company to confirm if they cover out-of-network acupuncture.

Do you have any safety or conduct policies?

Yes. For your safety and to maintain a professional healing space, we reserve the right to refuse or end treatment if a patient arrives under the influence of drugs or alcohol.  Acupuncture affects the nervous system, and impaired states can interfere with your ability to safely and effectively receive care.  This is to ensure your body can respond appropriately to acupuncture and to maintain the integrity of the treatment environment.  This policy is in place to protect both you and your practitioner.
